Overview

The submission process this year is different than in previous years, since the RNA-SIG is part of the main conference. More details about the restructuring of ISMB can be found here. If you would like to submit unpublished work as a paper to the ISMB proceedings for topics covered by the RNA-SIG you should use the central ISMB proceedings portal and designate the RNA-SIG as your SIG of choice. The deadline for submission to the conference proceedings is January 26th (see more details and submission link here). Even if your paper is not accepted to the ISMB proceedings, you can still submit it as an abstract to the SIG as described below.

Abstract submission for the RNA-SIG opens on Thursday, March 16th. Submission deadline is Thursday, April 13th. As in previous years you can submit abstracts to the RNA-SIG about recently published or on going work. This is equivalent (and subsumes) previous years' submission to the main conference in the tracks of "research highlights" and "late breaking sessions".

Submission Guidelines:

  1. We accept abstracts in all aspects of research in RNA Biology and related computational methods. Submission should be done through the EasyChair site for RNA-SIG. Sign up for EasyChair here if you don't have an account.
  2. You are allowed to submit an abstract to different SIGs but are required to clearly indicate during the submission which other SIGs you have submitted the abstract to. If you submit the same (or very similar) abstract to multiple SIGs, the SIG chairs will discuss which COSI is most appropriate for your abstract.
  3. You should also indicate if you are interested in a platform presentation only (in which case the abstract will be removed from further consideration and the program if it is not selected for a talk), or to be considered for either a platform presentation or a poster (in which case the abstract will be considered for a poster if it is not selected for a talk). A subset of posters can be selected for highlight flash oral presentations.
  4. You must be registered to the SIG in order to present an abstract (poster/talk) in it.
  5. Please submit a one page abstract using a this template.
  6. Submission of a poster only abstract is done via the main ISMB site here, where you can indicate the RNA-SIG as the selected SIG/COSI for the poster. You can submit posters to the ISMB conference until May 16th (early, reduced fees), or until Jun 5th (late submission).

Tips and directions for abstract submission:

  • Please, log in using your credentials.
  • Then, click on New submission.
  • Fill in the authors and abstract details as required.
  • Submit the abstract using the template provided (1 page maximum).
    • We can not stress enough how important it is to use the template provided. Formatting issues typically produce substantial delays in the admission process.
  • We encourage all selected speakers to bring posters to the poster session too.
  • Acceptance notification will be sent to authors by Wednesday, May 10th, 2017.
